THE CHALLENGE

We want to automate and control electronics in our homes but face barriers in cost, complexity, and technology.

What if there was a smart sensor kit that required no instruction manual or previous experience?

THE SOLUTION

Meet the smart sensor kit, that helps you multitask and co-design the behaviour of your home. The core tablet app connects sensors with actuators (I/Os) from the kit into flexible scenarios controlled by you, on your schedule.*

For advanced hobbyists, customized Arduino programming is accessible in a supportive open source community.

*Domo is 'home' in Esperanto and Ido.

HOW IT WORKS

Place preprogrammed I/Os around your home.

Recreate one or more rooms in the app and arrange the I/Os to correspond with the approximate physical location.

SCENARIOS

Use simple logic like when, then, and if, to combine I/Os into automation scenarios. For example, WHEN it is dark outside, THEN turn on the light, IF someone is home.

I/Os

Various sensors and actuators can be connected and combined into meaningful scenarios with the tablet application. Each kit comes with ten to start so you can build your library from there.

END NOTE

Joining the project for three months, development and production of the kits continued after the core interactions for the application were established. See the overview of my contributions in the documents below.
